First Snowfall of Winter Season :
According to media reports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa areas like Mansehra and Battagram, Azad Jammu & Kashmir areas like Naran, Rati Gali, Patlian, Arang Khel, Grace, Baboon, Shunthar and Punjab province’s Nathiagali receives first snowfall of the season signaling the arrival of Pakistan’s winter season.

According to media reports the Naran valley witnessed two inches of snowfall. As a result, the local residents had to take shelter indoors and took out sweaters, blankets, and jackets for protection. According to MET reports snowfall, wind thunderstorms, and rain can befall in isolated locations in northeast Punjab, Gilgit Baltistan, and Kashmir.
N15 National Highway Closed:
Due to the heavy snowfall in Gilgit Baltistan’s areas, the local government authorities have closed off Babusar Top and the Diamer district officers have placed a travel ban on using N15 National Highway used for reaching Babusar Top and have requested tourists to go through the Karakoram Highway alternative as a diversion instead.
The PMD (Pakistan Meteorological Department has further predicted chances of light snowfall in the northern area like Naran Valley and Babusar Top for the upcoming days. Furthermore, Pakistan's northern area regions are going through some extreme weather shifts as the Hazara division recently received heavy rain along with thunderstorms changing the weather in the area to sub-zero temperatures.
