The Government of Saudi Arabia has announced to postpone the Hajj and Umrah pilgrimage this year. Every year tens of thousands of Muslims visit the holy cities of Mecca and Medina to offer Hajj and Umrah. The minister of religious affairs of Saudi Arabia said that the Umrah and other ziyarats have been suspended by taking account of the severe consequences of the virus. However, the situation is continuously monitored so that effective measures can be taken to contain its spread.

Resume prayers in the Mosques:

The interior minister of Saudi Arabia has informed the people that the Mosques of Mecca will be opened from 21st June for the devouts. The safety measures will be followed to offer the congregation prayers. The prayers in the Haram will be offered according to the current rules and regulations by maintaining the distance between the people.
