Japan has started their new work visa programme inorder to welcome 820,000 people from other nations to work for Japan

In the following years, Japan is planning to welcome more foreigners in their country for the Specified Skilled Worker programme so they could expand their work visa. More improvements have been made in the Specified Skilled Worker programme so that it could be more accessible to the professional workers that want to contribute to its recently established four new industries. The Specified Skilled Worker No.1 will now be reachable to these industries which includes  forestry and timber sector, road and railway transportation. By working in these industries, they can obtain this work visa of japan.
 

 
 
As 2023 was coming to an end, Japan welcomed 208,000 workers on The Specified Skilled Worker No.1 and 37 workers on No.2. In order to broaden the work visa programme to four extra fields, Japan is continuing their plan this year to accept more skilled workers to 820,000.   
 
There is a need for more skilled workers from other nations as there is a continuous decrease in their population and lack of transport and logistic industries. So, extra industries have been added to the The Specified Skilled Worker Visa scheme since it was first initiated in 2019.

It is essential for drivers to pass the N3 level of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test inorder to qualify for their position. In order to apply for No.1 visa, foreigners can start their work and stay in Japan for up to five years, if only they will pass a test showing their professional and related Japanese language skills. The visa No.2 enables workers to bring their family along with them. Moreover, it allows for unlimited renewals, facilities on their way to permanent residency.
