According to an announcement by the National Immigration Administration on Tuesday, foreigners holding valid visas issued prior to March 28, 2020, will be permitted to enter China as the country is modifying its visa and entry policies to facilitate border travel.
The Administration further stated that visa-free policies for entry into the southern island province of Hainan and cruise tour groups at Shanghai ports will be resumed. In addition, visa-free entry for tour groups of foreigners from Hong Kong and Macao to the southern province of Guangdong will be reinstated, and a similar mechanism will be restored for tour groups from ASEAN countries entering Guilin in the southern Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. These policies will take effect on Wednesday, as per immigration authorities.
China Visa Policy
China has a strict visa policy that applies to most foreign nationals who wish to enter the country. There are several types of visas available, including
China tourist visas, business visas, student visas, and work visas. The requirements and application process for each type of visa vary, but generally include submitting an application form, providing supporting documentation, and attending an interview at a Chinese embassy or consulate.
The visa processing time can take several weeks, and it's important to ensure that all the requirements are met before submitting the application. Visitors to China should also be aware of the country's immigration laws and regulations to avoid any legal issues during their stay.
