Gurdwara Shri Kartarpur Sahib in Pakistan and Dera Baba Sahib in India have a 9 km stretch between them that are known as kartarpur corridor. This stretch allows the Sikh devotees to visit the shrine for their religious rituals. The Sikhs having an Indian Passport can visit the Kartarpur Corridor by directly entering the Indian border. Significance of Kartarpur Corridor:

The Kartarpur corridor inauguration was on 9th November 2019 on the 550th Birth Anniversary of Guru Nanak. The inauguration ceremony was held where Prime Minister Imran Khan welcomed the Sikh pilgrims and formally inaugurated the Kartarpur corridor. Many government officials and the Sikh community were also there at the time of inauguration. Pakistan also established the immigration office to accommodate and facilitate the Sikh pilgrims. Kartarpur Corridor Fee:

Every Sikh visitor has to pay US$20 for visiting the shrine as Kartarpur corridor fee. This almost costs 3072.64 Pakistani Rupees. However, if Pakistani people wanted to visit the shrine it’s free for them.
 

Kartarpur Corridor Registration:

The registration for kartarpur corridor visit is very necessary, without it no Indian Sikh pilgrim is allowed to enter the corridor. Every Indian pilgrim has to submit their identification documents to their government which is then sent 10 days before their travel date to Pakistan. Then the confirmation of pilgrims will be sent that allows them to travel to Kartarpur corridor depending upon the available slots. The people can travel by car as the corridor is open for cars and can be travel on foot. Indian pilgrims are not allowed to stay at night in Kartarpur shrine. They have to travel back within the same day after visiting the shrine. Almost 5000 Sikh devotees from India can visit the kartarpur shrine each day.
