Ziyarat and Umrah Guide

Performing Umrah is a significant religious pilgrimage in Islam and considered a Sunnah for Muslims. Here is a basic guide on how to perform Umrah

Ihram

The main step in performing Umrah is to wear Ihram but Before entering the state of Ihram, make sure to perform ghusl and put on the prescribed clothing for Ihram. For men, this consists of two seamless white cloths, one wrapped around the waist and the other over the shoulders. For women, loose-fitting attire is allowed as long as it covers the entire body, except for the face and hands.

Niyyah

While entering the Haram area (the sacred precinct in Mecca), make the intention for Umrah in your heart. This can be done silently without any specific wording.

Tawaf

Once inside the Masjid al-Haram, approach the Kaaba and start the Tawaf, which is the act of circumambulating the Kaaba seven times in a counter clockwise direction

Maqam Ibrahim

After completing Tawaf, pray two Rak'ahs of Nafl prayer behind the Maqam Ibrahim (the station of Ibrahim), if possible.

Sa'i

Proceed to perform Sa'i, which involves walking seven times between the hills of Safa and Marwah. Start at Safa, recite supplications, and walk towards Marwah. Repeat this process seven times, ending at Marwah.

Tahallul

After Sa'i, men are required to have their heads partially shaved, and women are advised to cut a small portion of their hair as a sign of purification.

Umrah Completion

At this point, the Umrah is complete. The restrictions of Ihram are lifted, and you can return to your normal daily activities.

The Kaaba is considered the holiest site in Islam and serves as the direction (qibla).

The Prophet Ibrahim believed to have built the Kaaba as the first house of worship dedicated to the worship of the one true God (Allah). With out the Ziarat of Masjid al Haram your umrah is incomplete.

Masjid e Aisha

Aisha Mosque also known as Masjid e Taneem is the Second largest mosque of Makkah City and the must place visit ziarat place in Makkah. This mosque has high importance. The people (who wish to perform Umrah) should go to Masjid e Aisha and enter after waring Ihram for Umrah purpose. This place is the Miqat for the people of Makkah.

Jannat ul-Mualla is burial ground of many of Prophet’s (peace be upon him) relatives, including his wife Khadijah bint Khuwaylid and Abdul Muttalib, who was the grandfather of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Other notable figures buried there include Abu Talib, the uncle and guardian of Prophet Muhammad, and Abdullah ibn Abdul-Muttalib, the father of the Prophet. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and his close companion Abu Bakr were sought refuge in the Cave of Thawr to do Hijra from Makkah to Madinah.

Majid ul Nabawi

Jannat ul Baqi

Jannat al-Baqi is an important cemetery located in Medina, Saudi Arabia. It holds immense significance in Islamic history and is a sacred burial ground for many companions of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and other early Muslims. Some of the notable personalities buried in Jannat al-Baqi' include:

  • Uthman ibn Affan: The third Caliph of Islam and a close companion of the Prophet.
  • Hasan ibn Ali: The grandson of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and the second Shia Imam.
  • Abbas ibn Abdul-Muttalib: The uncle of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

Masjid e Ghamama

Mosque of Al-Ghamamah is one of the oldest mosques in Medina, Saudi Arabia, located 400 m south-west to Masjid-e-Nabawi in the place believed to be where the Islamic prophet Muhammad performed an Eid prayer in the year 631 hijra. This mosque was built by Caliph Umar bin Abdul Aziz. Thousands of Muslim visitors are keen on performing prayers in the historical Al-Ghamamah Mosque, a well-known religious landmark closely associated with the Prophet's life story.

The mosque is rectangular shaped, and made of two parts, which are entrance door and prayer room. The entrance door is also rectangular shaped and has a length of 26 meters and width of 4 meters, and has five dome-shaped circles drawn on facade

Masjid Jummah

Majid jummah located on the boundary of Madinah about 2.5 meters from Masjid e Nabawi this mosque is marked as the site where the Prophet (peace be upon him) led the first Jummah salah, shortly after his Hijrah (migration) from Makkah. It linked to the migration of Prophet Muhammad from Makkah to Madinah. And during the time of pilgrim uge number of visitors came here and try to offer their Jummah prayer as it their faith that if they offer jummah prayer in this mosque it will be rewarded as double

Masjid Qiblatain

Masjid Qiblatain, is known as the Mosque of the Two Qiblas, is a historically significant mosque located in Medina, Saudi Arabia. The mosque is famous for its unique feature of having two prayer (qiblas) instead of the usual one that faces the Kaaba in Mecca. Initially, Muslims used to pray in the direction of Jerusalem (the first qibla) as commanded by the Prophet Muhammad. However, Allah revealed a verse in the Quran directing Muslims to turn their faces toward the Kaaba in Mecca (the new qibla.

This mosque has a very important moment as the event of the change of qibla took place inside this mosque.and this place has become a popular destination for pilgrims and tourists visiting Medina.

Best time of the day to do Ziarat

Many Muslims aspire to perform Umrah during Ramadan. As with any journey, it's important to consider the most suitable time to visit Mecca for Umrah. We have found that the cooler months of the year are (October to April) tend to be the most comfortable for visiting Mecca and the less crowded time off the year to perform Umrah is (June and August) it’s up to you to choose the better option for yourself for Umrah performance

For Women/ Ladies

  • Ladies ziyarat hours are from 6 am to 11 am in the morning at Masjid Al Nabawi in Madinah and evening hours are from 9:30 pm to 12 am. On Fridays, however, the hours are 6 am to 11 am and 9 pm to 12 am.
  • Whereas for Masjid Al Haram, Makkah is after sunrise between 7 am to 9 am, after Isha prayer around 10 pm to 12 am.

For Men

  • The timings allocated to the men are from 11 am until the Isha prayer and 12:30 am to Fajr Prayer.
