Day 1 : Colombo Katunayake Airport Kandy

Welcome to Sri Lanka!
Upon your arrival at Colombo International Airport, a designated guide from Esna Holidays will be there to greet you. Once the airport formalities are complete, you'll be escorted to your air-conditioned vehicle for transfer to Colombo.
Your first destination will be Kandy.On the way, you'll visit the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage.

Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage serves as a sanctuary, nursery, and breeding ground for wild Asian elephants, situated in Pinnawala village. It boasts the world's largest herd of captive elephants. As of 2011, the orphanage was home to 96 elephants spanning three generations, comprising 43 males and 68 females. Established in 1975 by the Sri Lanka Department of Wildlife Conservation (DWC), the orphanage's primary aim is to care for and safeguard orphaned wild elephants found wandering in or near Sri Lanka's forests.

Next, you'll explore the Spice Garden in Mawanella, renowned for the variety of spices for which Sri Lanka is famous. Here, you'll have the opportunity to learn about different spices and witness how they are cultivated and processed.
In the evening, enjoy a captivating Cultural Show featuring traditional dances.
Afterwards, you'll check into your hotel and have the rest of the day at your leisure.

Day 2 : Kandy Nuwara Eliya

Start your day with a delicious breakfast before checking out from the hotel. Embark on a captivating city tour in Kandy.

Explore the sights of Kandy, including the scenic Upper Lake Drive, the vibrant Market Crafts Centre, and the fascinating Gem Museum. Kandy, the hill capital, holds a special place as the venue for the annual Perahera festival. It was the last stronghold of the Sinhala Kings before it was eventually ceded to the British in 1815.
Next, visit the renowned Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya. Spanning 147 acres, these majestic gardens were established in 1374 as a pleasure garden for the Kings of Gampola and Kandy. With over 5,000 species of trees, plants, and creepers, including rare and endemic varieties, as well as flora from around the tropical world, the gardens are a treat for nature lovers. Don't miss the popular Spice Garden and Orchid House. Admire the beauty of the five Palm Avenues, the oldest and tallest being the Royal Palm Avenue, planted in 1905. One notable feature is the Double Coconuts avenue, showcasing the largest seed of all plants in the world.

Continue your journey to Nuwara Eliya, making a stop en route to walk through a tea plantation. Experience the origins of Ceylon Tea, introduced to the island by the British around 1850. Renowned for its exceptional quality, Ceylon Tea has been a cornerstone of the island's economy for generations.
Arrive in Nuwara Eliya, often referred to as the "Little England of Sri Lanka," nestled in the misty hills of this enchanting island. The colonial charm of the town, adorned with rose bushes, evokes the ambiance of the British countryside.
Transfer to your hotel for dinner and enjoy an overnight stay in Nuwara Eliya.

Day 3 : Nuwara Eliya Bentota

Travel Time: Approximately 5 hours & 30 minutes.
Enjoy a delicious breakfast before heading to Bentota.
On the way, make a stop to admire the beauty of St. Clair’s & Devon Waterfalls.
St. Clair’s Falls, often referred to as the "Little Niagara of Sri Lanka," is among the widest waterfalls in the country. It's one of the six waterfalls affected by the Upper Kotmale Hydropower Project.
Devon Falls, located 6 km west of Talawakele in the Nuwara Eliya District, stands at an impressive 97 meters high. Named after the English coffee planter Devon, whose plantation lies nearby, it ranks as the 19th highest waterfall in Sri Lanka.
Kithulgala, renowned for its exhilarating White Water Rafting adventures, offers more than just thrills. Only 100 km from the capital Colombo, it's also home to the historic Beli Lena Caves, believed to have been inhabited by the prehistoric Balangoda Man.

Day 4 : Bentota Sightseeing

Following breakfast at the hotel, embark on a captivating journey through Bentota City.
Experience the serene beauty of the Madu River with a scenic boat ride. Spanning across the 915-hectare Madu Ganga Estuary, this natural wonder is intricately linked to Randombe Lake via narrow channels. The region's rich biodiversity was unveiled through a comprehensive survey by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) in 2000, revealing a staggering array of wetland vegetation and wildlife. With over 300 plant species and 248 vertebrate species thriving in its ecosystem, the area was rightfully designated under the RAMSAR Convention on Wetlands in 2003.

Embark on an enlightening visit to the Marine Turtle Conservation Project in Kosgoda. Globally, all seven species of marine turtles face endangerment, with five of these seeking refuge for nesting in Sri Lanka. Witness the captivating spectacle of turtle nesting, hatchlings emerging, and their brave journey back to the ocean. The Kosgoda Conservation Project offers a unique opportunity to learn about and observe these remarkable creatures.
After a day filled with exploration and conservation, return to the hotel for a delightful dinner and a restful overnight stay in Bentota.

Day 5 : Bentota Airport
