Itinerary

Day 1

Iranians often boast that Isfahan is "half the world." Once one of the largest cities globally during the 16th and 17th centuries and the capital of the Safavid dynasty, Isfahan offers a rich tapestry of history and culture. Today, our journey begins at the UNESCO World Heritage site of Naghsh-e-Jahan Square, one of the largest city squares in the world. Here, we'll explore the grand Aliqapu Palace, with its six majestic floors, and admire the Royal (or Imam) Mosque, a pinnacle of Persian Islamic architecture. We’ll also visit the Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque, a private mosque for the royal court, and the Chehelsotoun Pavilion, renowned for its forty columns.Next, we’ll meander through the Qeysarieh Bazaar, starting from the northern edge of the square and concluding at the Old Jameh Mosque of Isfahan, another UNESCO World Heritage site and one of Iran's oldest surviving mosques. Our tour continues in Jolfa, Isfahan’s Armenian quarter, where we’ll visit the Vank Cathedral, a testament to the Christian heritage in Iran.We’ll then head to the banks of the Zayandeh River, where we'll explore several historic bridges, including the stunning Siosepol and Khaju bridges. Finally, we’ll take a stroll down Charbagh Street, known as "the four gardens," a historic thoroughfare in the heart of Isfahan.
