Day 7: Luxembourg - Trier - Koblenz - Rudesheim am Rhein - Frankfurt (400 km)

Today, we bid farewell to Luxembourg and venture across another European border into Germany. Our first destination is the historic city of Trier, Germany’s oldest city and the birthplace of Karl Marx. You'll have the opportunity to observe the exterior of the house where the influential philosopher was born, now transformed into the Karl Marx Haus museum.

Our walking tour then leads us into the heart of Trier, where you can explore the impressive cathedral housing the revered Holy Robe, believed to be the tunic of Christ, which is occasionally exhibited. Trier, also known as ‘The Second Rome’ (owing to Constantine's tenure as an administrator here for 10 years), bears significant remnants of the once-mighty empire. The highlight undoubtedly is Porta Nigra, the best-preserved Roman city gate north of the Alps, offering stunning photo opportunities.

Following an exhilarating morning in Trier, our journey continues to Koblenz, renowned for the confluence of the Rhine and Mosel rivers. Here, you can enjoy a leisurely lunch by the water, followed by the option to embark on a picturesque Rhine boat cruise for unforgettable city panoramas.

Upon returning to land, we'll traverse through the charming wine-making town of Rüdesheim (subject to road and traffic conditions), before reaching Frankfurt am Main. There, you'll explore the delights of Römerberg, a captivating plaza adorned with a distinctive medieval town hall at its core.
