This morning, we depart from the Big Apple and head north, passing the picturesque Delaware Water Gap on our way to Watkins Glen State Park in the heart of the Finger Lakes region. Here, we'll stroll through Watkins Glen Canyon to admire the stunning waterfalls before continuing our journey to Niagara Falls, passing Seneca Lake and arriving in the late afternoon. We'll tour the U.S. side of Niagara, including the American Falls, Goat Island, and Luna Island. Experience the sheer power of Niagara aboard the Maid of the Mist. At night, we'll marvel at the colorful lighting of the falls. Overnight: Niagara Falls – Wyndham Super 8
Our day begins with a breathtaking view of the magnificent Horseshoe Falls, followed by a visit to the picturesque village of Niagara-on-the-Lake. We then proceed to Toronto, the financial capital of Canada, where we explore HTO Park, Brookfield Place (home to the Hockey Hall of Fame), City Hall, and The Distillery Historic District. In the evening, we depart Toronto, heading east along the world-famous Lake Ontario, and arrive at the 1000 Islands area. In April, depending on weather conditions, we may return to Niagara Falls for the night.
Overnight in Gananoque – Comfort Inn (In April, overnight in Niagara Falls – Wyndham Super 8)
We begin our day with a cruise through the stunning 1000 Islands on the St. Lawrence River, a route first navigated nearly 500 years ago by the French explorer Jacques Cartier. Marvel at the luxurious homes of the rich and famous perched on private islands, including Boldt Castle and Heart Island. As we make our way to New York, enjoy a shopping stop at a large outlet mall, where you can find great deals on brand-name stores. We will arrive at our hotel in New Jersey in the evening.
Overnight in New Jersey – La Quinta Inn and Suites, Clifton, NJ
Depart from New Jersey to Pennsylvania, heading to the City of Brotherly Love, Philadelphia. Upon arrival in the historic area, we will visit the famous Liberty Bell, an iconic symbol of American freedom, as well as Independence National Park and Congress Hall. We’ll stroll down Elfreth’s Alley, the oldest continuously inhabited street in America. Next, we'll embark on a panoramic tour of Philadelphia, which includes sights such as the financial district, Benjamin Franklin Parkway, Historic Philadelphia, and more. As we depart Philadelphia, we will see the famous “Rocky Steps” before continuing to Lancaster County, home of the Amish community.
Our visit to Lancaster begins with a ride on an authentic Amish buggy through the Amish farm country, where we will learn how the Amish live without modern technology, including electricity, running water, telephone service, or appliances. After the ride, we’ll explore the Amish marketplace, where we can shop for handmade arts, crafts, and products. In the late afternoon, we will head east for an evening arrival in Washington, DC.
Overnight stay: Wyndham Garden, Washington DC.
Begin your day with a visit to the Thomas Jefferson Memorial, nestled by the serene Tidal Basin and adorned with iconic Japanese cherry blossom trees. Explore the Arlington National Cemetery, where you can witness the changing of the guards and pay respects at the Kennedy family gravesite.
Next, head to Capitol Hill to marvel at the US Capitol and the White House, gaining insight into the heart of the US government. Continue your journey to the Air and Space Museum before visiting the Lincoln Memorial, Martin Luther King Memorial, and the memorials dedicated to the Korean and Vietnam Wars.
