In last few days there have been numerous cases of land sliding in most of the Northern Areas of Pakistan. A lot of tourists travelling to Skardu and Babursar Top had to face hardships on the way. Even the Depty Commissionar of Gilgit posted on scoial media on continuous rains and landsliding warning tourists to delay their trips.
 
People from different parts of the country went to the Northern Areas for entertainment. There they faced many difficulties. The majority of people got stuck at a point. Now they are unable to move from one place to another. The interview has been taken from a random person who was enroute to Skardu. In his interview he said:
 
On the route to Skardu, we were formerly given access to basic comforts like lodging and food, but we are now unable to move forward or turn around. Landslides and constant rain are also present here. It appears that until the rain stops, we will be stranded here.
 
During land sliding, the traffic was also blocked due to which the citizens had to face more difficulties. Due to the heavy rainfall, the situation is getting worse in the Northern areas. Tourists who came from different areas and Skardu residents alike are disappointed by this circumstance. They do not know how to cope with this situation. 
 
According to local Journalist Rajab Qamar:
 
“People in Skardu may experience a lack of food, medications due to poor weather and flooded roads”
 
The situation is getting worse due to the pre-monsoon rain. As you know, different areas of Pakistan are experiencing landslides, and the route connecting Gilgit with Skardu is currently closed in several locations. However, the road of Babu Sir Top Road is open now, according to the Gilgit-Baltistan Administration.
 
The authorities of Gilgit-Baltistan have alerted the people and visitors about the land sliding which might continue. 
 

Risk of Land Sliding for Travel 

According to the Weather Forecast pre-monsoon rainfall will remain in the following locations: Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mayanwali, Sargodha, Khushab, Bhaker, DG Khan, Hafizabad, Faisalabad, Mandi Bahaparent, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Sialkot, Naruwal, Lahore, She
 
The governments of Skardu and Gilgit Baltistan are attempting to make tourist facilities available. People are currently stranded at the point and helpless because of the closure of the highways.
 
Precautions: 
Nowadays, people should avoid traveling to northern areas. Tourists are advised to reschedule their trip if they want to go from Gilgit to Skardu.
