The pilgrimage of Hajj is a mandatory and important pillar of Islam for Muslims around the world. Only the most lucky and privileged get a chance in their life time to grab the opportunity to perform Hajj.
The ministry of religious affairs and Interfaith harmony (MORA & IH) have always tried to ensure the best policies and services for the Hajj pilgrims of Pakistan by initiating various steps to safeguard the rights and interests of Pakistani people during Hajj activity and improving services through feedback through various official channels for improving services in the future. During the year 2021 due to the world wide pandemic the government of Saudi Arabia only allowed 10,000 local people to carryout the Hajj activity. The various initiatives and policies changes incorporated with regard to Hajj package in the last 5 years of Hajj policies are listed below:

HUJJAJ MOHAFIZ SCHEME 2020:
A special scheme was launched in 2011 by MORA & IH known as Hujjaj Muhafiz Scheme under the Takaful concept to give relief to hujjaj pilgrims who were affected during hajj. Each pilgrim member are suppose to deposit Rs. 500 for the scheme for Haji welfare for the following:

New Initiatives in Hajj Policy:
● New hajj application form being more simple and brief
● Improve operation of Pilgrims welfare fund
● Discussion with KSA to extend the road to Makkarh project for Karachi , Lahore, Peshawar and Quetta Airports in addition to Islamabad airport
● Training of Hajjaj pilgrims outsourced towards IT companies
● 1000 sets quota reserved for overseas pakistani citizens. Normal conditions of selection apply
● The age limit for senior citizen has been reduced from 80 to 70 years
● The Etimad centers for biometric services increased in pakistan from 29 to 35
● Special temporary haji camps to be established at Gilgit Baltistan and pilgrism will be transported from Gilgat Baltistan to islamabad airport by Ministry of RA & IH

A special scheme was launched in 2011 by MORA & IH known as Hujjaj Muhafiz Scheme under the Takaful concept to give relief to hujjaj pilgrims who were affected during Hajj. Each pilgrim member are suppose to deposit Rs. 500 for the scheme for Haji welfare for the following. Book Hajj and Umrah insurance plans.

● Provide hujjaj facility of immigration clearance at Jinnah International Airport, Karachi as pilot project for the Road to Makkah initiative

● Efforts for allowing Pakisani pilgrims to carry specified bag and hand carry
● Quota of 5000 given to non quota holder companies under certain condition

● Upgraded air conditioned buses from airport to the residence for hujjaj
● Provision of 100% accomodation in Markazia in Madinah Munawarah
● Provision of three time cooked meal in mina and arafat
● Provision of mattress with double thickness and increase width in mina
● Provisions of filtered water and effective cooling system in each Maktab in mina
● Provision of fireproof tents at Arafat
● Separate washrooms for disabled in Mina, Muzdalifa
