The interior minister of the Saudi government has announced that based on recommendations issued by the World Health Organization to control the coronavirus, the government has decided to temporarily suspend the kingdom residents to perform umrah in Mecca and Medina. Coronavirus cases in Saudi Arabia:

The confirmed case of the coronavirus has been reported in Saudi Arabia due to which the Saudi government has banned its residents for performing the Umrah. According to the sources, the infected person came to Saudi Arabia after visiting Iran. Iran has already reported many positive cases, so due to security concerns; this step was taken to decrease the risk of prevalence of the virus. 
 
As the applications of the Hajj 2020 also opened but it is not confirming that the virus outbreak will affect the ratio of hajj pilgrim to what extent. The policies will be reviewed again depending upon the outbreak of coronavirus.
